The 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games opened on 25 July 2015 in Los Angeles, California. The 2015 Games feature competitions in aquatics, gymnastics, track and field, basketball, golf football (soccer) and many other summer sports involving 6,500 athletes with intellectual disabilities from around the world.

Being apart of the 2015 Special Olympics has been one of the most memorable experiences of my career. Throughout the day I met so many talented athletes from all over the world and was able to watch some of the greatest golfers, witnessing some of the most amazing golf shots, excitement and happiness that I have witnessed in my sport! To be able to have the opportunity to be involved and play such a big role by presenting the bronze, silver and gold medals will be memory I will never forget.

The 2015 Special Olympics World Games had an incredible 6,500 athletes and 2,000 coaches that represented 165 countries. There were 30,000 volunteers and an anticipated 500,000 spectators! The event will be the largest sports and humanitarian event anywhere in the world in 2015 and the single largest event in Los Angeles since the 1984 Olympics Games.

Thank you to the Special Olympics World Games for presenting me with a memory and experience I will never forget! Congratulations to all the amazing athletes who competed and thank you for being such an inspiration to not only myself but to all athletes across the world.
